- 海と山に囲まれた自然豊かな芦北町。海岸沿いで爽やかな潮風を感じて走ることができるのが、この大会の魅力
- 大会名の「うたせ」は、地元の伝統漁法である「うたせ船漁」に由来しており、風を受けて帆で進み、うたせ網で魚やエビをすくう漁法のこと
- コースはほとんどの区間がほぼフラットなのでどの種目も比較的走りやすい。ハーフは一部上り坂ありなのでペース配分に注意
- ゴール後も、地元の特産品が当たる抽選会や周辺の観光でゆっくり芦北町を満喫できる
