- 日本の古代史、古墳好きにはたまらない。「飛鳥・藤原の宮都」として世界遺産登録を目指している歴史的な場所を走る
- 明日香村の起伏に富んだ地形により、アップダウンや「激坂」と呼ばれる急な上り坂を走る非常にタフなコース
- 給水はマイボトルやマイカップを持参する方式を採用している環境にも配慮した大会
- エイドでは古代米柿の葉寿司や葛アイスなど地元の特産品なども提供される
