- 大会の由来となった『大凧あげ祭り』は、江戸時代から続く伝統行事でGWに開催。同じ時期にマラソン大会も開催されている
- 全体的に高低差が少なく平坦なため、自己ベスト更新を狙いやすいコース
- 「全国のランナーをまごころ込めて迎えましょう」をスローガンに、地域住民や多くの学生ボランティアが大会を支えている
- 孫（まご）Runは 5歳〜小学生の子どもと、その祖父母（または親）がペアで走るファンラン部門。好評により2026年大会では定員を増員。家族の思い出作りとしておススメ
