- 立川市の国営昭和記念公園を舞台に開催されるマラソン大会で非常にアクセスが良く日帰り参加しやすい
- 例年1月上旬に開催されるため、その年の最初のレースとして「走り初め」におすすめ
- 箱根駅伝予選会の会場としても使用され、フラットやカーブ、緩やかな起伏もあるため単調になりすぎず変化に富んだ走りやすいコース
- 参加費には国営昭和記念公園の入園料も含まれているので、レース後はそのまま公園内を楽しめる
