- スタート・フィニッシュは佐倉市出身の陸上競技指導者、小出義雄さんの功績を称えて名付けられた、小出義雄記念陸上競技場（佐倉市岩名運動公園内）
- 高橋尚子さんや 有森裕子さんなど、数々の名選手が練習を積んだ金メダルジョギングロードの一部を走ることができる
- 最大高低差は20 m程度で、小刻みなアップダウンはあるが比較的フラット。桜の開花と重なれば、春の訪れを感じさせる満開の桜並木がランナーを歓迎
- 都心からのアクセスも良好。ゴール後は城下町・佐倉の町並みを散策し、春の佐倉の美しい情景と歴史を満喫できる「旅ラン」もおすすめ
- 2026年開催の43回大会は、コース一部に工事が予定されていることにより、フルマラソンを10マイルに変更して開催
