- 毎年 5月3日の祝日に、大会名にもなる朝霧湖（野村ダム湖）沿いの雄大な景色を楽しみながら走る人気のマラソン大会
- コースは高低差が大きく、ランナーの脚力と精神力が試されるハードな設定
- 地元の方々による温かい声援やサポートなど、おもてなしが魅力
- 完走者には、西予市野村町の特産である伝統的な手すき和紙「泉貨紙（せんかし）」の完走証が授与される
